Gold Dot Ceramics
Our Spring Cup is wheel thrown with Frost porcelain. It is finished with a glaze infused with neodymium, a rare earth element that creates a subtle color shift. Under fluorescent light, the cup appears a soft white-blue, while in natural light it transforms into a gentle lavender pink.
The form is loosely inspired by a tulip. A grounded, flat base gives the piece a sense of rooting, while the form opens and moves upward into a soft, living edge. This sense of growth and movement is echoed in the changing glaze, making each cup feel dynamic and alive depending on its environment.
Designed with winter fractal snowflake patterns in mind, these vessels emphasize subtle variation as the glaze breaks along sharper edges, revealing the underlying fractal pattern. Each piece is fully watertight and intended to hold a winter arrangement. Signed with my 23K gold leaf on the belly.
Toshi porcelain with Hamada Tenmoku glaze and 23k gold leaf.
This cup was designed for our Fall 2025 collection. Its surface shifts from dark, mossy greens to bright orange, with areas of crawling texture that break across and within the form—an effect characteristic of Shino glazes. The piece is fired in a gas kiln, where subtle adjustments to the balance of carbon and air guide the final color. Heavier reduction yields deeper greens and blacks, while increased oxygen brings out warmer orange tones.
The clay body is Toshi Porcelain. Each piece is signed with 23K gold leaf on the belly of the cup. Dimensions are approximately 3x3x3.
